So far, Instagram users can only comment in the form of text and emoji on other users’ posts. Of course, this is very boring if there is no innovation from Instagram.
Finally, to keep the conversation going on Instagram exciting, this application made by Meta has released a GIF feature in the comments column.
quoted Telset from Engadget On Wednesday (17/05/2023), Head of the company Adam Mosseri announced the recent addition of his Instagram Channel during a chat with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Tuesday.
“This is a bit of a feature that’s finally coming, but we’re rolling out GIFs in the comments today,” Mosseri told his boss.

With this feature, users can comment on user posts or comments with GIFs from Giphy. Furthermore, Mosseri said Instagram is also testing the lyrics feature on Reels, but it’s not yet known when the feature will roll out.
Actually, the GIF feature in the comments column has been around since February 2023, but it’s only available on iOS and only some users can access it. However, with the direct announcement from the Boss of Instagram as well as Mark Zuckerberg, it is certain that the feature has been rolled out to all users.
How to Leave Comments with GIFs on Instagram
How to give comments using GIFs, is quite easy and almost the same as posting comments via text or emoji.

- Open the Instagram application and select the comment column, to start responding to a post.
- Write keywords related to GIFs in the comments section.
