This satellite feature allows users to send text messages to emergency services when no cellular network or Wi-Fi connection is available. This feature can also be used without the addition of additional hardware or software.

When a user calls emergency services with this new feature, it sends the current location and a message that the user needs help.

It should be noted that this feature only works outdoors (not inside the house) that is directly facing a clear sky without obstructions, such as trees, buildings, etc.

Currently the Emergency SOS via Satellite feature is a free service for two years after activation of the iPhone 14 or iPhone 14 Pro, and after two years, the user must pay a monthly subscription fee to continue using this service.
