iwanrj.com – Jakarta – Apple’s newest Mac this year is expected to be powered by the M3 processor, but it seems that the various devices powered by this processor will be delayed until 2024.

Apple has combined a good combination of performance and efficiency for its processors, many even hope that this will continue on the M3 processor.

But a report from Gizmochina mentions that the processor won’t be available until 2024, which keeps it from being used in any devices this year.

Information on the unavailability of the Apple M3 chip which delayed its use on the latest Mac and iPad was claimed by a Twitter user named @tech_reve, who claimed to have insider information.

He said that no Macs or iPads would be powered by the Apple M3 this year, due to yield issues with TSMC not being able to properly supply the M3 processor to Apple which led Apple to decide the release was delayed until next year.

As you know, TSMC is currently responsible for producing the A17 chip with 3nm technology for the iPhone 15 Pro model. Apart from that, the company is also working on an M3 chip for the Mac series which uses the same 3nm process.

This chip promises a significant increase in speed and power efficiency. However, TSMC’s recent challenges with 3nm tools and yields have reportedly impacted the company’s ability to meet demand for such new-tech chips, according to an EE Times report.

If these claims are true, it is unlikely that we will see new processors at WWDC 23 which takes place on June 5. On the other hand, users may not complain about the products available in the market because they have good performance for the current conditions.

In addition, this means there will be no new Mac models. According to several reports that surfaced earlier, the Cupertino-based tech giant will be introducing a 15-inch MacBook Air with an M2 processor. This new Mac model is expected to have a frugal battery life. [FY/HBS]
