iwanrj.com – Jakarta – Google is testing AI technology in the search application or Google Search, which makes it easier for users to search for information and shop.
Google calls this experimental project the name Labs. AI trials in search are available to users in the United States in English, on Google Chrome for desktop and the Google Search app for Android and iOS.
At the Google I/O 2023 event, a slight sophistication of AI in search was showcased. For example, when asking what is better for families with children under 3 and a dog, Bryce Canyon or Arches?, you will get a snippet of important information to consider.
Then there is also a link if you want to dig deeper. Then when you request a specific follow-up, or choose from one of the suggested follow-up questions.
Then Google will take you into a new conversation mode that looks like ChatGPT, powered by web content and multiple perspectives on answers that you can explore further.
Generative AI can also help you shop, as it can understand complex search terms. Again, when searching for a product you will get an overview, important factors to consider and a product that fits the bill.
Even product descriptions tend to be comprehensive as they include relevant and up-to-date reviews, ratings, prices, and pictures.
Google says they are committed to continuing to send valuable traffic to sites across the web, and not just keeping you on its search page all day talking to AI.
The company also believes that advertising is an important part of how the web works, and helps people find relevant products and services, so that ads will continue to appear in specific slots throughout search pages.
quoted Telset from GSMArena on Thursday (11/05/2023), Google promised to train its models to uphold high standards and continue to improve the models over time.
Registration for Search Labs opened today, and users in the United States will be able to access new generative AI features in the coming weeks. [NM/HBS]
