iwanrj.com – Jakarta – Many Telkomsel customers access Instagram and other applications during the 2023 Eid holiday. This is what causes a spike in traffic during the moments of Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr 1444 Hijriah (RAFI).
During the RAFI 2023 moment, Telkomsel recorded broadband traffic growth reaching 11.7% compared to a normal day in 2023 or 11.4% compared to the same period the previous year.
Meanwhile, based on an official statement received on Tuesday (25/04/2023), SMS services grew by approximately 14.1%, while voice call service traffic decreased by 20% compared to normal days.
The results of Telkomsel Siaga RAFI 2023 broadband traffic were driven by an increase in customer activity in accessing digital services during the RAFI 2023 moment.
Telkomsel recorded an increase in Idul Fitri traffic in 2023 which includes access to communication services, such as instant messaging and video conferencing which grew to reach 5.5%, as well as access to mobile games which jumped to 15.2%.
Meanwhile, digital services that experienced the highest traffic growth were contributed by customer access to the WhatsApp instant messaging application service which soared to 40.3%, social media applications such as TikTok 28.5%, SnackVideo which reached 23.4%, Instagram which rose to 14. .2%, and YouTube 12%.
“Overall, we have anticipated a surge in broadband service traffic by optimizing network infrastructure with advanced technology and ensuring the availability of superior digital products and services,” said VP Corporate Communications Telkomsel Saki Hamsat Bramono.
All digital activities carried out by Telkomsel’s loyal customers also contributed to increasing traffic using broadband services during the RAFI 2023 moment in a number of areas compared to normal days.
There were 5 areas that experienced the highest increase in broadband traffic, including in the operational areas of Cilacap Regency which grew 58.8%, Ciamis Regency 58.4% and Tasikmalaya Regency which reached 54.9%.
Then Garut district grew 54.4% and Langkat regency in North Sumatra province up to 38.7%.
“Telkomsel found that Cilacap Regency, Bandung City, Cirebon Regency, Kebumen Regency, and Tasikmalaya Regency were the 5 homecoming destinations that experienced the most significant customer movements,” said Saki.
