This smartphone is very different from the previous Xiaomi luxury smartphone series.
Xiaomi 12 Pro sets a new standard for flagship smartphones in Indonesia as well as challenges other flagship smartphones with superior camera features.
The smartphone features a 50MP wide-angle camera with Sony IMX707 sensor, f/1.9 and 1/1.28” 7P lenses and a 2.44 m 4-in-1 Super Pixel.
This sensor technology supports pixel-binning with a single large pixel of 2.44µm, a portable camera technology that can combine every small pixel into a larger pixel to improve image quality.
Xiaomi 12 Pro Camera Review With Ultra Night Mode:
Xiaomi 12 Pro comes with a sturdy design with a size of 163.60mm x 74.60mm and a thickness of only 8.16mm, and weighs 180 grams.
The design is sleek and modern, using a sleek center frame with sophisticated 3D curves that wraps the device from front to back and corner to corner.
This phone is available in three color variants namely Gray, Purple and Blue.
This smartphone is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus which makes it more resistant to drops, impacts and scratches.
Corning Gorilla Glass Victus also allows it to withstand being dropped from a height of up to two meters on rough, rough surfaces.
Gorilla Glass Victus technology also increases the resistance by up to twice that of Gorilla Glass 6 in terms of scratch resistance.
The Xiaomi 12 Pro series has three Class 50 Pro cameras on the rear and an Ultra-Night Mode.
Xiaomi 12 Pro is equipped with three rear cameras consisting of a wide-angle, ultra-wide, telephoto camera with a resolution of 50MP, all of which support the night mode feature.
The 50MP wide-angle camera technology on this smartphone is supported by a Sony IMX707 sensor, f/1.9 and 1/1.28” 7P lenses and a 2.44 m 4-in-1 Super Pixel.
For the front camera, this smartphone is equipped with a selfie camera with a 32MP screen. We were interested in testing the performance of the rear camera on several occasions in the evening and at night.
This is a recording of the front page of a signature restaurant in the Jl Wijaya I area, South Jakarta using the Xiaomi 12 Pro by activating the Night Mode feature:
These imaging results produce sharp-looking details and sharp contrast, low noise even in relatively low light conditions.
We also tried to photograph the restaurant’s neon sign on the side of the building. The results are amazing. Neon sign colors shine naturally, not scattered and not too noticeable.
Like this result:
We also want to know about the results of the shoot if it is used to record interior images.
Of course, the light conditions on the object being photographed are sufficient, aka no less light.
It turns out that the results are also very impressive of course. For example, when used to photograph food, the available colors look natural and sharp. This can be seen from the description of the chicken wings.
The texture of the brown chicken skin looks natural with sharp details. The same goes for spreading sesame seeds. The colors are displayed naturally, not very impressive.

The rear camera on the Xiaomi 12 Pro also supports object capture for those who like photo objects with blurred backgrounds, aka getting a bokeh effect.
We have tried to shoot indoors at night. With adequate top and side light sources, this looks like the result:
The rear camera of the Xiaomi 12 Pro is really reliable for recording activities indoors at night.
We once again tested the performance of this rear camera for recording interior lighting in a pastry shop window.
We purposely took pictures from outside in relatively low light
The result is very clear, like this:
This photo can produce a nice contrast between the dark side of the window sill and the interior.
The same goes for details, as seen in the still clearly captured glass shutter hinge. The same goes for the cake shop window inside.
As seen in the chandelier house, the details are clearly recorded in this photo. In addition, the difference in the color of the wallpaper on one corner of the wall with the other side of the wall is clearly visible.
Next we tried to take landscape photos in the afternoon at Palmerah Station. Details of the resulting photo object are clear and the colors look comfortable to the eye.
Oh yes, the Xiaomi 12 Pro rear camera also provides the Slow Motion feature. This feature is usually found on mainstream smartphone cameras.
We can use this feature to record videos that give a dramatic effect to short videos or when we want to create interesting video content on social media such as Instagram or others.
This feature challenges the creativity of users to find creative ideas. For example, recording a moving vehicle or recording water splashes when it rains.
For the record, the Xiaomi 12 Pro uses Sony’s advanced IMX707 sensor in the world’s first wide-angle camera over the Xiaomi 12 Pro. This sensor can put a professional-grade photography and videography experience in the palm of your hand.
The smartphone is also equipped with Xiaomi’s advanced AI algorithm, to optimize cinematic capabilities with professional special effects and various creative options including Xiaomi ProFocus, One-click AI Cinema and many more.
Meanwhile, the Ultra Night Video feature adds the ability to record videos in low light levels, with various modes allowing users to capture studio-quality shots.
This smartphone offers an enjoyable audio-visual sensory experience with a high-tech WQHD+ AMOLED display powered by Dolby Vision.
The audio quality looks very good through the quad speakers which are powered by SOUND BY Harman Kardon and Dolby Atmos quality.
We tested the audio quality when used to play the Mobile Legend game. The resulting sound sounds clear and fresh. The contrast of the sound produced sounds strong, for example the voice of the hero’s scream in this game sounds natural.
Also, sound effects like the roar of swords are clearly visible.
On the screen, the Xiaomi 12 Pro looks immersive, combining high technology that produces 180 percent sharper images with richer color reproduction, as well as up to 50 percent power efficiency.
We get this when we used to play games and play videos from our YouTube channel. The color of the moving image looks natural.
battery power consumption
The Xiaomi 12 Pro comes with a 4,600mAh battery. We tested the battery power consumption on this smartphone to play the Mobile Legend game that was previously downloaded on the Google Play Store.
Accustomed to playing this game for 26 minutes, the battery on the Xiaomi 12 Pro only drained 8 percent.
What pleases gamers is to fill their spare time, this smartphone is powered by Xiaomi’s best class cooling technology to premiere with graphite film + steam room.
This is useful for supporting use in heavy-duty scenarios and multi-tasking without problems while maintaining the temperature on the smartphone.
We prove it when used to open multiple application screens at the same time playing games. Switching between screens feels responsive.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 kitchen track support with 5G connectivity works very well on this smartphone for multi-tasking needs
Xiaomi claims that the Xiaomi 12 Pro series has a high refresh rate of 1-120Hz, 6.73” AMOLED DotDisplay, A+ rating from DisplayMate with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset with the latest 4nm technology processing.
The smartphone has a Qualcomm Adreno GPU that can increase graphics display by up to 30 percent, and 25 percent energy efficiency with UFS 3.1 to increase data transfer + loading speeds, as well as LPDDR5 RAM with memory speeds of up to 6,400Mbps.
To avoid heat, for example when used to play heavy games for a long time, the Xiaomi Pro 12 is equipped with LiquidCool Technology for cooling the main stage which can keep the temperature within reasonable limits.
The Xiaomi 12 Pro has a larger 2,900mm2 Vamphor Space, and 3 sheets of heat dissipating graphite, to ensure a smooth and stable performance.
Xiaomi uses the latest OS, MIUI 13 based on Android 12.
The Xiaomi 12 Pro features 120W HyperCharge In-Box charging technology powered by the Surge P1 Chipset, Xiaomi AdaptiveCharge and safety certification from TUV Rheinland which supports charging to 100 percent in just 18 minutes.
The Xiaomi 12 Pro battery uses a 120W single cell battery, the first in its class to have a lower thickness and density than the regular 4,600mAh battery.
Xiaomi’s signature Surge P1 charger IC can increase battery capacity and output, as well as provide greater efficiency during charging.
Surprisingly, this smartphone is also equipped with Xiaomi AdaptiveCharge using an active algorithm when charging at night.
This is useful for learning the user’s routine while charging every day. This technology increases battery life and is safe for long-term use.
With the support of qualified specs and rich photography features, the Xiaomi 12 Pro deserves to be recommended for those of you who are looking for a smartphone for mobile photography.
This smartphone is also perfect for content creators who enjoy adding content and exploring their photography skills.
