iwanrj.com – Jakarta – YouTube Music has officially launched its podcast homepage and users do not need a paid YouTube Music plan to access podcast content on their smartphones.

Unfortunately, podcast content on Music is only available in the United States, and there is no information yet whether it will be launched in various countries, including Indonesia.
But apart from that, the presence of podcasts on YouTube raises questions regarding the fate of the Google Podcasts application. Currently Google Podcasts has been removed from Google search and its last update will be August 2022.

It looks like Google Podcasts is slowly closing, so users can focus more on listening to that content on Music. Previously, YouTube had hinted that it would launch a podcast.
In February 2023, a YouTube spokesperson revealed that the company will bring podcasts to YouTube Music in audio and video form for users in the United States and will expand to more territories.
“We’ll soon begin bringing our first audio and video podcasts to YouTube Music for users in the United States, making podcasts more discoverable and accessible for more territories in the future,” a YouTube spokesperson said. Engadget.
