iwanrj.com – Jakarta – Not wanting to be left behind, Samsung plans to create its own advanced generative AI platform, similar to chatGPT. The development of this self-made chatbot is aimed at repeating corporate data leaks.

As previously reported, some time ago Samsung was confused because three of its employees were caught leaking company data to ChatGPT.

Not wanting the incident to happen again, Samsung immediately made several anticipatory steps. In addition to banning its employees from using third-party AI chatbots, such as ChatGPT and Google Bard, Samsung is reportedly planning to create its own generative AI platform.

For this reason, Samsung is collaborating with Naver to build the development of an advanced generative AI platform exclusively designed for internal use at the South Korean technology giant company.

Combining Technology with Privacy

After experiencing potential risks associated with external AI platforms, Samsung is taking proactive steps to protect its property data and intellectual property.

This in-house AI assistant developed in collaboration with Naver will address the unique requirements and challenges faced by Samsung employees in the Device Solutions Division.

Unlike its predecessors, this AI platform will remain on Samsung’s secure servers, ensuring sensitive semiconductor-related information and property codes are kept confidential and protected from unauthorized access.

By sharing select semiconductor data with Naver, Samsung can harness the power of generative AI without compromising security or running the risk of data leaking into the public cloud inadvertently.

One of the important advantages of this collaboration is the better understanding of the Korean language by the platform. By customizing the AI chatbot to understand and respond to Korean more accurately than existing generative AI tools.

Samsung said that the development of this AI chatbot aims to provide a smooth and intuitive user experience for its employees.

In its initial stages, this AI chatbot is intended for employees in the Device Solutions Division. This in-house AI platform undergoes rigorous field testing to ensure optimal performance and compatibility.

After a successful evaluation, the tool may gradually become available in other Samsung branches, including the Device eXperience division which is responsible for smartphones, home appliances and others.
