iwanrj.com – Jakarta – A recent study by Home Security Heroes reveals how dangerous hacker tools can be password supported by AI technology.
Currently, AI or artificial intelligence technology has undoubtedly provided various innovative solutions for various things, for example, ChatGPT, Microsoft Bing, to Google Bard.
However, the power of AI technology requires great responsibility so that it can be used for positive things, and there is a dark side to this technology that we need to be aware of. Now, research from the company cybersecurity Home Security Heroes shows how dangerous it is if this technology is used for negative things.

quoted Telset from Gizmochina, recently Home Security Heroes has published its latest research investigating the world of AI-powered password cracking, focusing on a hacking tool called PassGan a network used to generate passwords.
From this study the researchers used PassGAN to analyze a list of more than 15 million passwords, and the results were quite surprising.
According to research, 51% of common passwords can be hacked in just under 1 minute, 65% can be hacked in less than an hour, 71% can be hacked in less than a day, and 81% can be hacked in less than a month.
The study said that most passwords consisting of six characters and less can be hacked instantly. The study shows that passwords with at least 18 characters are considered safe from this hacking tool, as it takes at least 10 months to crack an 18-character password containing numbers.
Even so, the level of security password it may not survive the dangers of these hacking tools, as AI technology continues to evolve. To protect accounts from hacking tools, the company recommends using a password with at least 15 characters with a combination of two letters, numbers, and symbols.
Avoid predictable patterns, such as password contains 1234, and changing passwords regularly is essential. Also, avoid using password the same on multiple accounts.
