iwanrj.com – Jakarta – Telkomsel dispatched 1,400 informal sector workers for Eid homecoming for free. Mudik is carried out using land and sea transportation, with destinations in various regions in Indonesia.

The program titled Telkomsel Poin Mudik Hepi was held thanks to Telkomsel’s Idul Fitri homecoming donations through BenihBaik. Through this program, Telkomsel customers can exchange 25 Telkomsel points to IDR 2,500 to be used as homecoming donations.

Telkomsel’s VP of Postpaid Consumer International Roaming & Roaming Interconnect, Bernadus Wahyu Wijayanto, explained that his party is aware that going home to Eid is a moment that people who work in big cities like Jakarta have been waiting for.

Especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, there were restrictions on people’s mobility which made it difficult for them to return to their hometowns.

“After going through the pandemic, this is the right moment to meet again and strengthen ties with family. For this reason, Telkomsel wants to celebrate Eid 1444 Hijri by sharing goodness together,” said Bernadus.

Telkomsel dispatches travelers using 2 modes of land and sea transportation. Especially for land, there are at least 16 buses departing for 7 cities, namely Lampung, Palembang, Padang, Pekanbaru, Tasikmalaya, Semarang and Surabaya.

As for sea transportation, Telkomsel dispatches travelers to three cities, namely from Sampit to Semarang, Makassar to Surabaya and Tarakan to Pare-Pare. Unlike going home by bus, their departure follows the schedule of the Pelni Ship.

The informal sector workers who are invited to go home for free are online motorcycle taxi drivers, traders, cleaners, and others. Through this activity it is hoped that travelers can be facilitated to return to their hometowns.

“We hope that this Telkomsel homecoming program can strengthen Telkomsel’s commitment which aims to spread goodness and help those in need,” said Bernadus.
