iwanrj.com – Jakarta – Approaching the 2023 Lebaran homecoming moment, XL Axiata revealed that it is increasing network capacity. This step was carried out on the homecoming route as well as cities that have become many destinations for travelers on this year’s Eid.

At the Joint Iftar event on Monday (10/04/2023), President Director of XL Axiata Dian Siswarini explained that his party had made a number of preparations to face the 2023 Eid homecoming.

The preparations made include adding XL Axiata’s network capacity, as well as repairing the network on the homecoming route so that the XL Axiata network remains stable when customers use it.

“XL Axiata has prepared itself for the Eid homecoming season by adding capacity and improving signals on the homecoming route and in the cities of homecoming destinations,” said Dian.

The number 1 person at XL Axiata also mentioned several cities that experienced an increase in network capacity, at the 2023 Eid homecoming moment. The cities mentioned are located on the islands of Java and Sumatra such as Bukit Tinggi and Yogyakarta.

The increase in XL Axiata’s network capacity was carried out because it was predicted that there would be a spike in traffic or hotspots as travelers arrived in the city.

“In the Java region, high traffic occurs in Central Java Provinces such as Solo and Yogyakarta Provinces. While in Sumatra it is usually Bukit Tinggi,” continued Dian.

Meanwhile, one of the homecoming route areas whose network capacity has been enlarged is Cirebon. This is because the city on the Pantura route has always been an option for travelers when taking a short break before continuing their journey.

“We also see a lot of transit areas. For example the Cirebon area because if people want to go to Central Java and East Java they must go through Cirebon. In Cirebon there is usually a buildup of cars, so that is also our concern,” Dian explained.

On the other hand, the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) areas experienced a decrease in traffic, because XL users in Jabodetabek went home for Eid in their hometowns.

“For Jabodetabek, if Eid, the traffic is reduced to an extraordinary 40%, because it’s going home,” Dian concluded. [NM/HBS]
