MediaTek Announces Dimensity 8050, Has a Clockspeed of Up to 3Ghz

iwanrj.com – Jakarta – MediaTek officially announced chipsets newest for mid-range smartphonesnamely Dimensity 8050 which has the highest clock speed specification of 3 GHz.

This new processor is built on 6nm fabrication technology and has a CPU configuration octa-core with 4 performance core ARM Cortex-A78 with a top speed of up to 3Ghz,

quoted Telset from Gizmochina, despite this chipsets the newest, but similar in architecture to the Dimensity 1300 and 1200. These chips come with memory support quad-channel and UFS 3.1 storage dual-channel.

This latest processor is built on 6nm technology from TSMC, Dimensity 8050 comes with a 5G modem which makes it a 5G chipset. The CPU configuration uses a 1+3+4 core system.

The specifications of the CPU used by the MediaTek 8050 chipset include 1 super core with a speed of 3 GHz, 3 performance cores up to 2.6 GHz, and for efficiency cores there are 4 with Cortex-A55.

To handle graphics matters, the chip has a powerful Arm Mali-G77 GPU with 9 cores for processing graphics. Also, in terms of photography it supports video recording up to 4K resolution and for photography it supports a 200MP camera with night photos that is 20% faster than its predecessor.

Meanwhile, this processor offers smartphone manufacturers the flexibility to design devices with a Full HD+ resolution screen with a 168Hz refresh rate or a high-resolution QHD+ screen with a 90Hz refresh rate.

In addition, the chipset also includes MediaTek MiraVision technology to support video playback which has HDR support and is claimed by the company to have screen technology equivalent to cinema quality to enhance the user experience.

The MediaTek Dimensity 8050 makes its debut on the Tecno Camon 20 Premier. This latest smartphone from Tecno comes with prices starting at $450 or around Rp. 6.6 million in Nigeria. [FY/HBS]
