Google Pixel Fold Launched, Enlivens the Foldable Screen HP Market!

iwanrj.com – Jakarta – Google Pixel Fold was officially launched at the Google I/O 2023 event. Pixel Fold enlivened the global foldable screen cellphone market, which is currently on the rise and has many enthusiasts.

The Pixel Fold measures 139.7 x 79.5 x 12.1 mm when folded and 139.7 x 158.7 x 5.8 mm when the smartphone is opened with a weight of 283g and a choice of Porcelain and Obsidian colors. HP body obtained IPX8 resistance certification not easily damaged when exposed to water.

The external screen uses a 5.8-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 1080 x 2092 pixels, a body ratio of 17.4: 9 and refresh rate 120 Hz and Gorilla Glass Victus. The screen has capabilities High Dynamic Range (HDR) up to 1200 nits and peak brightness up to 1550 nits.

While the screen specifications for the Pixel Fold section are OLED, 7.6 inches with an aspect ratio of 6:5, resolution of 2208 x 1840 pixels, refresh rate 120 Hz, HDR capable up to 1,000 nits and 1,450 nits peak brightness.

The inner screen is also supported by Ultra Thin Glass technology, with a protective plastic layer on top.

Pixel Fold is powered by the Tensor G2 with the Titan M2 security coprocessor. Also embedded is 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256 GB and 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage, so that this cellphone can store lots of photos, applications and games.

In the camera sector, this latest folding screen cellphone has 3 cameras on the back with a main camera composition of 48 MP, sensor 1/2 inch, pixel width 0.8 micrometers, aperture f/1.7, and OIS technology.

Next is a 10.8 MP ultrawide camera with a sensor size of 1/3 inch, a pixel width of 1.25 micrometers, and aperture f/2.2. Then a 10.8 MP telephoto camera with up to 5x optical zoom with a sensor size of 1/3.1 inch.

The telephoto camera has a pixel width of 1.22 micrometers, aperture f/3.05, and support for Super Res Zoom up to 20x.

Meanwhile, the front camera on the outer screen has a camera fixed focus 9.5 MP with a pixel width of 1.22 micrometers and an aperture of f/2.2 and the inner screen has a similar camera size of 8 MP, a pixel width of 1.12 micrometers and aperture f/2.0.

The fingerprint sensor is embedded in the power button, there is dual-SIM support for SIM cards and e-SIM, stereo speakers and a 4,821 mAh battery that supports Google’s 30W charging and Android 13.

Google opened a Pre-Order (PO), for the Pixel Fold at a price of USD 1,799 or Rp. 26.5 million for 12GB/256GB RAM and USD 1,919 or Rp. 28.2 million for 12GB/512GB RAM, which is the new PO available in the United States only.

However, Google plans to sell the Pixel Fold through the Google Store in Germany, Japan and the UK in the near future. [FY/HBS]
