iwanrj.com – Jakarta – After various leaks circulating, now the release date of the Asus ROG Ally has been revealed. Asus ensures that the handheld gaming device launches on May 11.

Earlier this month, on April 1, this gaming device was allegedly an April Fool’s joke. However, as information circulates, it turns out that this console will certainly be released soon.

Some time ago, Asus also confirmed that ROG Ally would be released globally, including in Indonesia, but the release date and price have not yet been confirmed.

Now, Asus has officially confirmed the release date of ROG Ally, which is May 11 at 10.00 in New York, 15.00 in London and 22.00 in Taipei, based on information from the Asus ROG Global Twitter account.

Reported Telset from Gizmochina, for specifications, the Asus ROG Ally will be powered by the recently launched AMD Ryzen Z1 and Ryzen Z1 Extreme chipsets, which are specially designed processors for handheld gaming consoles.

For other specifications from the Asus ROG Ally, the device will use a 7-inch touch screen with Full HD + resolution, 16: 9 aspect ratio and 120Hz refresh rate. The screen also has Gorilla Glass Victus protection.

In terms of performance, to support a smooth gaming experience, this handheld console will use the Ryzen Z1 and Ryzen Z1 Extreme, as previously mentioned. For the standard Ryzen Z1 variant with a CPU configuration of 6 cores and 12 threads, accompanied by four RDNA-3 computing units for graphics.

Meanwhile, the Z1 Extreme version has a higher configuration with a CPU of 8 cores and 15 threads, which is also supported by twelve RDNA 3 computing units for graphics processing.

The two Asus ROG Ally variants will come with a DDR5 RAM configuration with a capacity of 16GB and PCIe 4.0 SSD storage with a capacity of 512GB. In addition, there will also be an onboard microSD for additional storage.

The device will use the Windows 11 operating system. The device’s power button can be integrated with a fingerprint scanner, which also has a Windows Hello function.

Regarding connectivity, ROG Ally will have WiFi 6E and Bluetooth connections, there are no 5G or 4G LTE connectivity options. Although, the battery capacity is still unknown, but the company claims that it can last up to 8 hours on a full charge. The device will weigh 608 grams.

Even though the official release date is known, the price for the Asus ROG Ally has not yet been confirmed. For the price, the Asus ROG Ally as a Steam Deck competitor from Valve is estimated to be sold in the price range between $ 650 or Rp. 9.6 million and $ 700 or Rp. 10.4 million for the North American region.
