iwanrj.com – Jakarta – Smartfren managed to get additional spectrum allocation at the 2.3 GHz frequency. The additional frequency makes the Smartfren network more stable.
The additional spectrum allocation in question was obtained by Smartfren from the transfer of the 2.3 GHz frequency allocation after the completion of the rearrangement or refarming process in March 2023.
Based on the official statement received on Thursday (27/04/2023), the Smartfren network frequency arrangement process is carried out so that the spectrum blocks occupied by telecommunications operators coexist. So as to improve the quality and capacity of the cellular network.
According to Merza Fachys as President Director of Smartfren, after the frequency arrangement was completed, Smartfren received an allocation of 10 frequency shifts
MHz which is useful to support quality improvement.

This additional frequency allocation applies throughout the island of Sumatra, Riau Archipelago, West Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, Bali, Lombok, Nusa Tenggara, Maluku and Papua.
“With the completion of the frequency rearrangement and the allocation of this additional spectrum, Smartfren will be more optimal in providing telecommunications services to the public. Apart from that, people can also enjoy better quality from wherever they are,” said Merza.
Smartfren has also carried out a number of other initiatives to improve the quality of telecommunication services. One of them is by accelerating the process of fiberization or installation of optical fiber to welcome the 5G era.
Fiberization is a technology that must be implemented in order to increase the capacity of telecommunication services, especially in areas with high data traffic.
Then Smartfren continued to increase its coverage, including adding a total of 4,000 BTS in all its operational areas. Smartfren often makes various efforts to improve the quality of service to customers.
